Abstract

The research aimed, in general, to estimate the efficiency of using the available economic resources for the olive crop within North Sinai Governorate, Egypt. The results of the indicators of the economic efficiency of the production elements used in the production of the olive crop in the long term are shown in the study sample, during the average of the two production seasons (2021/2022). The coefficient of economic efficiency for the element of organic fertilizer, human labor, has reached about 16.54, 9.24, which indicates the inefficiency of using these elements, and it was possible to reach the optimal size of production, and the maximum size of the profits, which is about 4812, 6335 kg/fad, which are more than the actual size of the production of the feddan of the olive crop, amounting to about 3181 kg/fad, which indicates the existence of lost income at the level of the total sample farmers. As for the estimation of profit margins, it was found that the general average of the net return per feddan, the return above the variable costs, the value added is about 16.18, 23.1, 27.94 thousand LE. The return of the invested LE, the profit margin of the product, and the relative profitability are about 2.00, 100.2%, 50.04%, 70.1%. The research recommends working to increase the cultivated areas of the olive crop.
