ECONOMIC CHARACTERIZATION OF FARMS PRODUCE OLIVE IN NORTH SINAI GOVERNORATE

Abstract

The olive crop is one of the sources of the diversity of agricultural production, and therefore, the advancement of the productivity of this crop is essential to meet the growing demand as a result of the population increase, on the one hand, and increasing incomes and the purchasing power of consumers on the other hand, this is in the olive harvest, ranked second in the list of the crop structure fruit crops in North Sinai governorate where the relative importance of about 30% of the total size of horticulture during the average period (2009 -2013). Despite the importance of the olive crop in North Sinai Governorate, but this crop is low efficiency and productivity in the light of the rise of the reconstruction of the olive trees and the existence of local items characterized by low productivity. The study aims to identify economic characterization of farms produce olive in North Sinai Governorate. Such as study of the production costs of the olive crop in terms of the relative importance of the terms of costs of olive crop inside north Sinai. The study adopted in achieving its aims in the descriptive analyzes to study economic variables of olive. This study achieving its aims in the exporters data obtaining preliminary data were obtained through a stratified random sample, the data collected through questionnaires. The study present status of olive crop inside North Sinai governorate reviews the economic variables related to the production of the olive crop civil farms within the North Sinai Governorate through a profile of all economic variables related to the production of the olive crop exclusive study says "Olive Farms civil sector in North Sinai in the average seasonal production of 2012- 2013 through study economic profile of the most important variables of the study effect on the production of the olive crop within a sample study, including with regard to the educational situation, farm owners, years of experience, also the volume of holdings meanwhile olive crop, trees age and, olive productivity, fixed and variable costs, then measures of profit.
