ECONOMIC STUDY OF TOMATO CROP IN EGYPT WITH REFERENING TO THE SITUATION IN NORTH SINAI

Abstract

North Sinai Governorate is considered to be one of the agricultural governorates in the area of  vegetable crops, especially tomatoes and cantaloupe, which considered to be  one of the most important crops representing vegetable crops, which are expected play effective role in the development of Egyptian agricultural exports from Sinai in the future, in addition to the growing global demand in the market, whether Arab or European, as well as hopes for an increase in the value of exports in general and agricultural in particular. The study of the situation of tomato in Egypt, explain the Egyptian economic indicators of tomatoes producers by reviewing all economic indicators related to area, productivity, production, production costs, total revenue, net yield. It is estimated that the area planted with tomato crop in North Sinai governorate is increasing annually with a statistical significance of about 583.5 fad. With an annual growth rate of 8.1%.
