A DESCRIPTIVE SOCIAL STUDY FOR CURRENT SITUATION OF SOCIAL & ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF BEDOUIN WOMEN IN NORTH SINAI GOVERNORATE

Abstract

The basic objectives of the study are to identify a profile of the current situation of social and economic empowerment and Bedouin women in North Sinai, Data were collected from the ladies who polled in Al-Arish and ber-abed districts to their villages through a questionnaire as a teacher in a face-to-face interview after conducting pre-test study. The Sample size of 237 of those interviewed were Some statistical methods were used to describe and analyze data, such as percentages, iterative tables, graphs, the weighted average percentage through the use of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The results of the research that has resulted in 35.8% of respondents with a high level of social empowerment, measure, while 59.4% of women with a medium level of social empowerment measure, while 59.4% of women a medium level of social empowerment, the rest of the members of the research sample and they are approximately 4.6% with a low level of social empowerment measure, while shows that about 14.8% of respondents with a high level of a measure of economic empowerment, while 67.5% of women with a medium level of the measure of economic empowerment, the rest of the members of the sample, 17.7% research with a low level of economic empowerment measure, which shows that more than half of the sample almost filled a medium degree of economic empowerment and social scale. The research was concluded with some recommendations, the most important of which is to increase the opportunities for the economic empowerment of women in terms of employment and access to credit and loans, marketing opportunities for products and small industries, and holding training courses for women in the work of the economic feasibility of small and micro-enterprises, and civil society participation of civil societies and the private sector in the integration of women in small and large projects to support productive families to raise the standard of living of women, and work on the development and improvement of women’s social and cultural climate and its surroundings and includes a range of activities that seek to refine the thought, cultural heritage, and update the mental image of women themselves and better life in conditions of the contemporary world, and work to increase women’s self-confidence, and increase their capacity to take them and their families in different areas.
