BUILDING A GUIDE TO THE BEST RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FISHERIES IN LAKE BARDAWIL. NORTH SINAI GOVERNORATE

Abstract

This study aimed at recognizing the main qualities of fishermen and their attitude towards sustainable development and building a scale towards sustainable development of Bardawil Lake. Besides recognizing the problems that hinder those who are responsible of the lake management and their suggestions to overcome these problems. This study depended on collecting data by using a questionnaire of fishermen (No. 150). The results of the study revealed that most of these fishermen in the age of youth and illiterate and the results of scale that it has reliability and validity of the study variable. The statistical analysis revealed that there is a positive relation of the degree of attitude towards sustainable development and farm size, awareness of public issues and the importance of these public issues, dealing with mass media, familism level, attitude towards social innovations, attitude towards technological innovations, ability degree, attitude towards savings and investment, realizing the over population problem, social readiness of working with other governorates workers, age, Ambition and attitude towards governmental institutions. The statistical analysis results revealed that there are 9 variables working together to predict the degree of attitude towards sustainable development of 51.8% and the problems were limited: 1- The importance of undertaking reform interfering to promote the role fishermen socities and associations, 2- Enhancing on the necessary of advancing the culture of fishernen and their values, concering sustaibilty through organizing group discussions, training courses, and workshop. 3- Introducing procederns for enhancing the socio-economic security of fishermen through availability of unemployment support wither prevent period as well as credit availability to maintance of their fishing boats.
